Havana, Cuba, Sep 16.- The struggle of the Cuban people against the US economic blockade is one of the issues promoted by the French Cuba Cooperation Association at the L’Humanite annual fair.
We will present a motion at the forum in favour of the lifting of the US blockade and all other sanctions against Cuba, said Victor Fernandez, president of the French association, which opened a stand at the fair for the first time this year.
The non-government organization was set up nearly 20 years ago to promote bilateral cooperation. The group also opposes the so-called Common Position of the European Union, a political interference-oriented strategy boosted in 1996 by then Spanish government president Jose Maria Aznar, which violates the rules of the World Trade Organization.
The Association is promoting debates on topics such as the cultural links between Cuba and France with the participation of Paul Estrade, professor at the University of Paris VIII and Cuban ambassador to the UNESCO, Maria de los Angeles Flores.
