Bogota, Sep 5 (Prensa Latina) The representatives of the Agrarian Table of Colombia (MIA), one of the sectors in strike in this South American country, reasserted President Juan Manuel Santos they are still decided to discuss their requests with the Colombian government. In a communique, the MIA sposkemen said the strike, started 18 days ago,and is still on with blocking of highways in seven departments in the south of Colombia, and demonstrations in another 10 territories.
The recent agreements in some regions by the authorities do not satisfy most of the strikers or pick up the interests of the farmers.
The agrarian leaders ratified they will insist on the strike until their demands are heard, maintaining their proposals, advocating for a great national negotiation table.
The table includes demands such as prices for agricultural production, a greater access to lands, and others.
The intransigency of the Colombian government has not broken the disposition of the striking farmers to talk on the problems affecting the strikers, who ratified their participation in a national protests on September 11, with representatives of all the sectors of Colombia.
