Cuba’s progress in the field of clinical trials is being exhibited at the Fifth International Workshop on Clinical Trials that began on Wednesday at Havana’s Convention Center with the participation of representatives from over a dozen countries.
Dr. Maria Amparo Pacual, head of the event’s organizing committee and director of the National Coordination Center of Clinical Trials (CENCEC), told ACN that experts from Brazil, Mexico, Spain, the United States, Canada, Ecuador, Greece, Serbia, India and Peru, among other countries, are attending the meeting.
She added that participants are analyzing topics such as current trends of clinical trials design, good practices, ethics of clinical research and its challenges, pharmaceutical regulations, and regulatory policies.
They are also discussing natural products; the training of human resources; support technologies, their evolution and current state; quality; public registers; and the use of statistics in the field of clinical trials.
