Irregularities against Cuban Five Exposed

Washington, Dec 5 (Prensa Latina) Organizations of the Cuban exiles in Miami, Florida, organized a conference on Monday to explain the present condition of five Cuban antiterrorist fighters, unjustly sentenced to lengthy prison terms in the United States, after an irregular trial.

During the meeting, representatives of several organizations grouped in the Alianza Martiana Coalition explained to 100 people the current situation of Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando Gonzalez.

They also talked about the situation of René Gonzalez, the first of the Cuban Five, as they are known internationally, to be release on supervised freedom on U.S. territory, where he faces risks, according to lawyers and activists.

The speakers at the event exposed the case of Ramon, Antonio and Fernando, who are waiting for a ruling on their appeals from Attorney General Office, which was scheduled for November 21, but was postponed at the request of that authority.

The meeting was organized by the Antonio Maceo Brigade, the Jose Marti Association, Circulo Bolivariano and the Association of Christian Women in Defense of the Family, which are members of the Coalition.
