President Manuel Zelaya leaving for Tegucigalpa

TEGUCIGALPA, July 5.—President Manuel Zelaya has announced his imminent departure for Tegucigalpa in the company of Miguel d’Escoto, president of the UN General Assembly, to accompany his people in the reestablishment of democracy.

In an exclusive interview with the multinational Telesur network he stated that a second commission headed by José Miguel Insulza, secretary general of the OAS, is to leave immediately for El Salvador to instigate the decisions taken by the hemispheric organization. This second commission is made up of the presidents of Argentina, Ecuador and Paraguay and the foreign ministers of Venezuela and Bolivia.

He asked the press to communicate this decision and expects the flight to last approximately four hours. He once again urged the Honduran people not to carry any weapons; that their weapons are those of the truth and those of fighting for democracy.
